The singles were back to finding their perfect matches on episode 2 of MTV’s experimental dating series “Are You the One?” Wednesday night’s second installment of Season 6 saw several couples continue to connect while a couple other pairs fell apart.
Find out what happened during the first matchup ceremony of the season and who went to the truth booth to find out if they’re a perfect match. If you missed last week’s fall premiere, catch up on all the drama here.
Love Triangle Pains
After hooking up with both Nurys and Diandra in the premiere, Malcolm says he feels bad.
Meanwhile, Geles and Anthony continue to bond. Geles admits she’s cheated on every boyfriend she’s ever had but that doesn’t deter Anthony. When he goes in to kiss her, however, she says she needs space. They end up later kissing in the confessional and Geles says they’re now “official.”
Rocking The Boat
When two of the guys in the house decide to throw a pirate party, everyone gets involved. After stating she’s still interested in Clinton, just like her friend Uche, Jada vows to up her game and tells her potential future “baby daddy” how she feels. Jada gets Clinton’s attention during the party by giving him a lap dance in front of the house. Jada also privately tells Clinton he’s practically fused to Uche and he needs to branch out.
Meanwhile, while Diandra is getting ready, Malcolm and Nurys start getting flirty again. When she sees Diandra wearing a sexy outfit to the party, Nurys reacts by kissing Malcolm in front of everyone. Diandra says she’s mad at both of her co-stars but says she’ll continue to fight for Malcolm as long as he doesn’t make her look like a fool.
Matchup Ceremony
During the first matchup ceremony new host Terrence J, who is taking over for Ryan Devlin, tells the cast they have the chance to win their share of the $1 million prize should they be able to find all 11 perfect matches by the finale. He also warns them that the blackout twist is back, meaning any ceremony that fails to get at least one perfect match beam will result in the cast’s prize getting cut in half.
When Malcolm comes up to make his decision, Diandra and Nurys get into a heated discussion about their love triangle. When Malcolm eventually picks Nurys at the matchup ceremony over her, Diandra says, “You already have a diamond right there in front of you. Why are you going to settle for a bunch of pebbles?”
More drama occurs when Ethan picks Jada and she admits she’d rather be standing next to Clinton but that Uche is standing in her way. “Clinton is at the beach the girls are seagulls and he puts tortilla chips just all over his body,” Ethan quips. “Girls just flock to him... I’ve never seen anything like it before. I’m a little bit jealous.”
Later on, Uche denies ever being Jada’s friend, which results in a yelling match between the two girls. Clinton says he finds Jada pretty, but he was surprised about how she reacted during the ceremony. He also says he’s more attracted to the way Uche handled the matter than Jada.
Here’s who picked who in the first matchup ceremony:
- Kareem-Alivia
- Anthony-Geles
- Malcolm-Nuyrs
- Keith-Alexis
- Joe-Zoe
- Michael-Keyana
- Ethan-Jada
- Clinton-Uche
- Shad-Audrey
- Tyler-Nicole
- Dimitri-Diandra
The ceremony ends with the house getting three out of eleven beams of light, and the cast is noticeably pleased.
Post-ceremony, Diandra says she still thinks she and Malcolm are a perfect match. Diandra says Nurys is a step backwards for him and he’ll realize it sooner or later.
Second Challenge
The second getaway challenge was all about the cast finding a date partner that has similar goals. “Choose Your Shot” had the men in the house aim for a ballon, using a bow and arrow, that correlates with a life goal they were most interested in. The guy’s date partners would only be revealed to them after a ballon is popped. Terrence says the first three guys to pop a ballon will be headed out on a date with the partner pictured.
Shad gets the first date after popping the goal which says the mystery woman is most interested in become a Real Housewife. When it is revealed Uche is the women behind the goal she gets upset because she isn’t going out with Clinton. Shad goes on to admit he doesn’t even know who Uche is in the house.
After multiple tries to pop the “become a Playboy Bunny” balloon, Joe does just that and learns he’s going on a date with Alexis. Joe say Alexis and his personalities are similar and they should have a good time.
Michael feels pressure to win a date with Keyana to get them into the truth booth. Unfortunately for him, he isn’t successful. Anthony is the third one to shoot a balloon and correctly guesses Geles’s goal, being that she wants to be featured in Sports Illustrated.
A Perfect Match?
Back at the house, Anthony says Geles is the only girl he can see himself being with. He says if he finds out they’re not a match it will be a “dagger” to the heart. Geles tell the other girls in the house she thinks she’s heading for the honeymoon suite the following day and jokes about getting married.
Elsewhere, with Alexis going on a date with Joe, Keith decides to set up a date of his own. He tells Zoe they will have a little get together while the the three couples are on their official outing. When Keith break the news to Alexis, however, she’s not thrilled and walks out of the confessional.
During Keith and Zoe’s date, they start to connect, however, Zoe says she’s aware he has a connection with Alexis. Keith says he’s torn about what to do.
The Dates
The dates take the couples to the French Quarter for a carriage crawl and drinks. There, Alexis says she’s fond of Joe because he’s playful with her. When Alexis says she’s not concerned about Keith’s feelings and is keeping her options open, the two share a steamy kiss.
Later on, Keith is upset when he finds out Alexis kissed Joe on their date and says he’s putting his walls up.
The Truth Booth
Terrence reveals that the rest of the house has voted in Anthony and Geles to visit the truth booth. The episode ends with the pair walking into the truth booth but doesn’t show the perfect match results.
