Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez's friends are concerned that they may have gotten engaged a little soon and fear that the two might not last, a report says.
Grande and her real estate agent boyfriend announced their engagement in December after dating for almost one year. However, an unnamed insider told Entertainment Tonight that while there is no question they love each other, some of their friends think they made a hasty decision in getting engaged.
"Ariana and Dalton have been spending a ton of time together since getting engaged and keeping things pretty low key and private," the source told ET.
"They’re mainly keeping to themselves and just enjoying their time together," the insider added. "They’re very in love right now, but friends think the engagement was somewhat rushed and are skeptical that the relationship will ultimately be short lived."
Despite their friends' reported concerns, Grande appears to be more than happy with her beau. She shared the news of her engagement to Gomez on Instagram on Dec. 20, posting several sweet photos of her with her fiancé.
The singer also showed off her diamond and pearl engagement ring. "forever n then some," she wrote in the caption.
Grande and Gomez were first romantically linked in February last year. The "Thank U, Next" singer went public with her new romance in May when she appeared with him on the music video of her collaboration with Justin Bieber, "Stuck With You."
At the time, an insider said the couple was "in a really good place." However, Grande decided to keep their romance private because she apparently felt that sharing her relationships with the public didn't do them a lot of good.
"Ariana has had some hesitation being so public about her relationship with Dalton as she's seen how that has worn on her past relationships. Dalton and Ariana are in Los Angeles together during quarantine, and it has been a great opportunity for them to spend quality time together," the source told Entertainment Tonight in May.
Prior to Gomez, Grande was engaged to ex Pete Davidson in 2018, but the two broke up just months after announcing the news. Fans and pals of the two, at the time, were not surprised to hear about the split, saying the engagement was rushed.
“It was way too much too soon,” a source close to Grande told People in 2018. "It’s not shocking to anyone."
