‘Arrow’ Season 6 Crossover Spoilers: Episode 8 Synopsis, Photos And Video Released
“Arrow” fans don’t have to wait a week for a new episode. Rather than airing on Thursday, Season 6, episode 8 will instead air on Monday. The move is just for the superhero crossover.
Episode 8 is part of the epic event that fans have been waiting for. Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) head to Central City for Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris’ (Candice Patton) wedding, but those two will have trouble on their big day.
Villains from Earth-X, a version of Earth where the nazis won World War II, invade during the ceremony. These villains happen to look just like the superheroes from the DCTV shows. Stephen Amell and “Supergirl” star Melissa Benoist will be pulling double duty as both heroes and villains in the CW’s two-night event.
“All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold (Wentworth Miller), The Ray (Russell Tovey), Felicity Smoak, Iris West and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) to take on their most formidable villains yet,” the synopsis teases. “Earth’s mightiest heroes — Green Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash and White Canary (Caity Lotz) — lead their teams into battle to save the world.”
The trailer shows the villains looking pretty fearsome. They have something that could start an apocalypse. Watch the “Arrow” crossover promo video below:
“Arrow” fans will want to tune in before the show starts, though. While other crossovers have sort of maintained each show’s individuality before, it sounds like these crossovers will blend together more than ever. “Crisis on Earth-X” starts off on “Supergirl” at 8 p.m. EST. It will continue on “Arrow” at 9 p.m. EST and Parts 3 and 4 will air on “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow” Tuesday night.
Amell sounds excited for the new storyline. “Call it the crossover if you want,” he told TVLine. “But it’s kind of like calling the Super Bowl just a football game. Yeah, sure, they play football, but there’s so much other stuff that goes on with it. It’s an event.”
While the focus is the team up, there will still be some threads from individual shows carried out in the two-night event. Oliver and Felicity’s relationship will play a big part in “Crisis on Earth-X.” It seems Barry and Iris’ celebration of love might evoke an epiphany from the Green Arrow.
“It’s Oliver and one other character in the Arrowverse’s story,” executive producer Wendy Mericle told TV Guide. “It really explores the question of true love, and what does that look like? It’s emotionally really compelling, and you’re going to be surprised by what he learns and how he learns it and who he learns it from. It’s pretty crazy stuff, I’m not going to lie.”
“Arrow” Season 6, episode 8 airs Monday at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
