  • Arsenal nearing Torreira loan deal to Torino
  • Torreira has fallen down the rotation of Arsenal
  • Aouar, Partey still targets for Gunners

Arsenal FC has several players on its list but needs to move some players to gain some flexibility. One player that is likely to be let go is Lucas Torreira. The 24-year-old has fallen down the ranks after an injury-plagued season and a loan move seems to be in the works.

Torino has been singled out as the team where Torreira could end up. It would be a big boost for the Gunners who need all the financial resources they can get to boost their chances on other targets, Sky Sports reported. One name that comes to mind is Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid.

If this plan progresses, Torreira could end up leaving on loan with a potential permanent move tied up to it. As of this writing, Arsenal and Torina are said to be discussing terms of the transfer. It would be done on two installments worth roughly $28.57 million. It would be a big loss for the Gunners who paid $33.76 million for the 24-year-old back in 2018.

If this does not prosper, there is another potential club waiting in the wings. Fiorentina is keeping tabs with the situation, meaning Torreira is not short of suitors.

Atletico Madrid was open to dealing Partey but wanted Alexandre Lacazette in exchange. Mikel Arteta has no plans to deal away from the French player, meaning they will have to raise the asking $60 million fee of Atletico through some other means.

In the event the Gunners fail in their bid for Partey, Arteta will need to look at other options. Houssem Aouar is an option but his case is no different from Partey. Lyon is seeking a hefty asking price for the French player. Lyon sporting director Juninho bared that no offers have been made for the 22-year-old France national.

"For now, there is nothing for these players, we have not received anything for Houssem, we have not received anything for Memphis [Depay]," Juninho said.

Also, Lyon does not appear to be in a hurry to deal away Aouar. Aside from Arsenal, other teams interested in him include Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.
