Arsene Wenger: Johan Djourou is Out for the Season
This is getting ridiculous.
Arsenal defender Johan Djourou is out for the season, adding to the list of injured players on a team that is in the chase for the Premier League title.
Manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that Djourou dislocated his shoulder and will not be back for Arsenal's last 10 games.
Unfortunately we have lost Djourou for the rest of the season, Wenger said after Saturday's FA Cup quater-finals loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford. It's a dislocated shoulder, his season is over.
With the Swiss central defender hurt, the Gunners are even thinner at defense after the slow recovery of Thomas Vermaelen. It doesn't help for Arsene Wenger that Alex Song remains hurt.
Arsenal lost their two top goalkeepers Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny to injury, as well.
The injury bug hasn't only hit the defense. Forward Robin van Persie has missed several games this season, but is currently healthy.
Currently, forward Theo Walcott remains injured, along with star midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The Gunners are only three points behind table leaders Manchester United, and have played one less game.
