‘The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story’ Releases First Photo Of Donatella Versace
“The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” is set to premiere next year, but FX network already dropped the first photo of Penelope Cruz as Donatella Versace.
In the snap, Donatella is seen wearing a long hot pink gown. Her long blonde hair falls on the right side of her face as she looks intensely into the camera. Donatella’s killer legs are also featured in the picture. While lounging in a luxurious chair, Gianni Versace’s (Edgar Ramirez) sister is also surrounded by two men wearing briefs. Donatella took over her brother’s fashion house after he was murdered in 1997.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the miniseries will chronicle the shocking death of the famed designer by Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss) inside his Miami Beach mansion. Also part of the series is Ricky Martin, who will be playing the role of Versace’s longtime partner, Antonio D’Amico.
Earlier this month, it was also announced that “New Girl” star Max Greenfield will be joining the cast of “The Assassination of Gianni Versace.” Series creator Ryan Murphy posted a photo of Criss and Greenfield on the set of the upcoming series. In the snap, it’s obvious that Greenfield, who plays the role of Schmidt in “New Girl,” has lost a considerable amount of weight. However, at the time of posting, Murphy did not reveal what role Greenfield will play.
Murphy and Greenfield previously teamed up in “American Horror Story: Hotel,” where the latter played the role of Gabriel. In the series, Gabriel was depicted as as a drug addict.
Meanwhile, ahead of “The Assassination of Gianni Versace’s” release, executive producer and creator Ryan Murphy and his team are currently working on another installment in the “American Crime Story” franchise. “Katrina” will follow the titular hurricane and its aftermath in New Orleans. The miniseries will star Annette Bening as Kathleen Blanco, the governor of Louisiana during the 2005 hurricane. She will be joined by Matthew Broderick as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Director Michael D. Brown and Dennis Quaid as President George W. Bush.
