The players' choice will determine Ciara's fate, as well as the ending of the latest game expansion. For players looking for ways on how to come up with the right choice, this guide may come in handy.
The Cost Of Betrayal
The events of The Wrath of the Druids expansion of "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" peak in The Cost of Betrayal mission. Ciara fears that she is destined to become the vessel for the Children of Danu. The character believes that the only way to end all of it and prevent the cult from accessing the key to Lia Fail stone's power is her death. Following this revelation, "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" players will be presented with two choices. These are An Honorable Death, or I Can't Kill You.
Honorable Death Ending
If players select to acknowledge Ciara's wish and give her an honorable death, Eivor will inform Ciara that her sacrifice will honor her gods. Ciara will thank Eivor for his decision. After that, Eivor will kill her using his ax. King Flann, who is watching from afar, will cry and will rush to Ciara's side. He will strike the stone using his sword and will destroy it to make sure the bard's sacrifice was not in vain. The stone's power will not cause harm again. Ireland will be safe for generations. When the stone gets destroyed, the display will fade to black and Eivor finds himself in Dublin.
I Can't Kill You Ending
If players choose the I Can't Kill You option; they will spare Ciara's life. Eivor will tell her that the stone is the source of power and destroying it would resolve the problem. Ciara will then destroy the stone. King Flann will tell her that he will take back his rash decision about the inquisition of the Druids. The king will assure her that the land she wants is now secure. Ciara bids goodbye and leaves without telling Eivor where she is going.
Regardless of the player's choice, the stone will be destroyed. The only slight difference is that Ciara's friend Deidre will use Eivor's decision here in the Amber Sun quest.
"Assassin's Creed Valhalla" is playable on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
