August 2016 Premiere Dates: Over 25 New TV Shows And Season Airing This Summer

It’s time to beat the heat, my TV loving friends. And what better way to hide out from the scorching sun than by slipping into the air condition and turning on the tube?

This August, audiences will have a smorgasbord of shows to devour when their small screens become flooded with delicious content. The upcoming premieres will range from the debut of brand new installments like Netflix’s “The Get Down, ” created by Baz Luhrmann, to the return of AMC’s “Fear The Walking Dead.”

Viewers can also expect famed survivalist Bear Grylls to make his epic return to TV for more adventure in Season 3 of NBC’s “Running Wild With Bear Grylls.” In the reality action series, Grylls will be accompanied by a red carpet star in each episode. “Dancing With the Stars” alum Julianne Hough will take on the African Savanna while singer Nick Jonas tackles the snow-covered Sierra Nevada Mountain in the show’s two-part premiere.

The 2016 Summer Olympics Games, which will take place in Rio, will also kick off this August. Viewers can watch which athletes will take home the gold starting on Friday, Aug. 5.
