Rumors have been sweeping the Internet claiming pop star Avril Lavigne is pregnant. While the starlet who’s married to Nickelback rocker Chad Kroeger hasn’t responded to the hype, other sources have addressed the gossip, saying she doesn’t have a bun in the oven.

It all started with a not-so-flattering photograph of the Canadian singer-songwriter that was taken in London Wednesday and posted on the Web. In the picture, the 28-year-old Lavigne shyly smiles at the camera while apparently trying to hide a burgeoning belly underneath a snakeskin printed pattern dress and leather jacket. “She’s not pregnant,” a source told Just Jared. “Her dress just draped a weird way when she hopped out of the car.” Another insider told People the weather was to blame for the deceiving photo, saying the wind might have been “playing” with her dress.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the “Sk8er Boi” singer, who was in London to promote her recent single “Here’s to Never Growing Up,” didn’t mention anything about babies.

“This time it’s not just all songs about relationships and dudes,” she told the British newspaper about her new album. “I just wanted to write songs and make something that was a little more artistic. I wanted to go down that road, I wasn’t trying to write a big radio record.”

The artist, who became a household name with her hit “Complicated,” explained her newer songs will touch on different topics. “Lyrically I pushed myself to talk about different subjects I haven’t talked about before. I didn’t want to be so simple. I tried to really express myself and go deeper,” she said.

Look out for Lavigne’s new album, which is supposed to be available in September.
