KEY POINTS

Popular indie game “Disco Elysium” will get a Nintendo Switch port sooner rather than later, according to a game exec.
In an appearance on BBC 5live's Game On podcast, the game's art director Aleksander Rostov confirmed that “Disco Elysium” is coming to Switch. He even joked that the interview is interrupting him from working on the project and bringing it to the popular console.
"This interview is, at this very moment, interrupting me from writing up design documentation for the user interface and input systems for the Switch port,” Rostov added.
On the other hand, narrative lead Helen Hindper backed Rostov’s statement and guaranteed that the Switch version of the game is “going to happen soon.”
It has already been a big 2020 for “Disco Elysium” since its launch last October, and it is clear that bigger things are coming for the game as it continues to increase in popularity in the community.
Recently, the game and its developer ZA/UM were among the big winners in the BAFTA Games Awards. The role-player actually bagged three awards in the event that was staged online, claiming the Best Debut Game, Best Music and Best Narrative.
For the uninitiated, “Disco Elysium” is an open-world role playing game that allows players to be a detective “with a unique skill system.” As described on its website, players can “interrogate unforgettable characters, crack murders or take bribes.”
Players have a lot of freedom in the game, and they can become heroes or “absolute disasters” as they journey through the game and make their choices.
“Disco Elysium” has been well received since its release, making its BAFTA awards not that surprising. It was even nominated for the Best Game of the year by the said award-giving body, though it eventually lost to “Outer Wilds.”
Moreover, in a review by GameSpot, they called the game “pure dynamite” and praised its writing and narrative, “novel skill system” and beautiful art that makes it stand out among its peers in the same genre.
There is no specific date when “Disco Elysium” will come to Nintendo Switch. For now, however, players can enjoy the game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (Microsoft Windows).
