'Bachelor' Producers Sued For Sexual Harassment; Warner Bros. 'Disappointed' With Lawsuit
The "Bachelor" franchise is facing yet another controversy.
Becky Steenhoek sued Warner Bros. Entertainment over the inappropriate behavior of the producers of the "Bachelor." According to her, they mocked her because of her "sexual inexperience and conservative views about sex."
In the documents obtained by Us Weekly, Steenhoek alleged that they also asked her "sexually-charged questions" such as how often she masturbates and if she has sex toys. She added that she was fired one week after she complained about the issue.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. responded to Steenhoek's allegations on Monday. The company made their own investigation and was disappointed with the filing of the lawsuit because they didn't find any grounds for it.
"We take all allegations of workplace harassment very seriously. These allegations were brought to our attention and were thoroughly investigated earlier this year," Warner Bros. Entertainment said in a statement. "Our findings did not support the plaintiff's characterization of the events claimed to have taken place, which is why we are disappointed by the filing of this lawsuit."
This is not the first time that the "Bachelor" franchise has been embroiled in a sex scandal controversy. Back in June, "Bachelor in Paradise" was suspended due to the alleged sexual encounter between two of its cast members, DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios.
"We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of 'Bachelor in Paradise' in Mexico," Warner Bros. said in a statement regarding the scandal. "We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action."
In July, the company decided to lift the suspension. "Bachelor in Paradise" Season 4 premiered on Aug. 14 on ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. But Olympios and Jackson did not return.
The two reality stars have already moved on from the controversy. Olympios apologized for the backlash Jackson received following the scandal and stressed that she never blamed him. Since then, they have been spending more time with each other.
On Oct. 21, Jackson and Olympios reunited at Maxim's Magazine's 2017 Halloween Party. Olympios sported a sexy fembot costume, while Jackson dressed as a biker boy. The two shared a photo of them together on their Instagram accounts following the event. "This fembot captured me tonight!" Jackson wrote in his post.
