'The Bachelor' Update: Peter Weber Suffers 'Serious Injury,' Chris Harrison Issues New Statement
On Monday, "The Bachelor" star Peter Weber was rushed to the hospital due to a "serious injury" he sustained while filming the upcoming season. Upon arriving, the 28-year-old pilot received 22 stitches in his face. What will this mean for Season 24?
According to Radar Online, the event happened during a game of golf in Costa Rica. "He went to step on a cart but fell and split his face open on two cocktail glasses he was carrying," an insider revealed. After traveling two hours in order to reach a hospital, Weber underwent an operation by a surgeon who reportedly specialized in such injuries.
The source also shared that everyone behind the scenes of the ABC reality show began to worry about where production would go from there. However, Reality Steve stated in a recent tweet that the show would go on as the latest rose ceremony is still set to take place on Friday.
Host Chris Harrison also offered assurance to members of Bachelor Nation thanks to a statement he gave to the Hollywood Reporter. "Peter suffered a freak accident. He got a cut on his head, he did get stitches but he's 100 percent OK and production is already back underway," Harrison said.
"The Bachelor" is set to return to ABC on Jan. 6.
