Bad News For 'Diablo 4' Fans; Blizzard Reveals Release Date & Offline Mode Details
Over the past weeks, we have seen leaks and heard rumors about “Diablo 4.” During the BlizzCon 2019, Blizzard announced the fourth iteration to the popular “Diablo” series. While the recent announcement gave us interesting insights about the upcoming game, it appears that offline mode details and release date window were not revealed.
Thankfully, PC gamer did an interview with Blizzard’s Lead Designer Joe Shely, who shared more details about “Diablo 4.” The upcoming game will not have an offline mode and will entail an Internet connection; the lead designer answered when asked if it’s possible for players to enjoy the game offline. There is a massive, seamless, linked, and shared space in “Diablo 4” that would be best experienced in an online world, Shely noted.
This shared open-world introduces “Diablo 4” as an MMO, so it is not surprising that it will entail an internet connection all the time for players to enjoy and interact with the world with other players. Players can play Solo, but it is not possible to play the game in offline mode. During the game’s reveal panel at BlizzCon 2019, we learned that the upcoming game would showcase world events, PvP zones, and towns that will serve as social hubs.
As for the release date, Game Director Luis Bariga revealed during the panel that “Diablo 4” is not coming out soon. During the event, Blizzard also released the official gameplay trailer and cinematic trailer of “Diablo 4,” and it is nothing short of gothic and dark. The cinematic trailer reveals an adventuring party journeying deep into a medieval-looking place that they should not be going.
After several abandonments and backstabs, the party found themselves in an olden chamber where an evil figure leads them to bring Lilith back to life. This confirms the early leaks about the character returning in “Diablo 4.” More likely, Lilith will be the main antagonist in “Diablo 4,” and her new looks are definitely striking.
Meanwhile, the gameplay trailer reveals the first three classes in “Diablo 4,” namely the sorceress, barbarian, and druid. “Diablo 4” will be released on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 at an unknown release date.
