The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry Files For Divorce From JP Arencibia
Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry has filed for divorce from J.P. Arencibia.
On her Instagram account, the country singer confirmed the news and said that she and her MLB player husband have decided to call it quits after four years of marriage.
“Yes, sadly it’s true, my marriage has come to an end. I know that beauty will come from these ashes and, as always, I want to thank you all for your love and support. I’ll be in touch soon,” she wrote.
According to E! News, Perry and Arencibia got engaged in 2013. The athlete proposed to Perry in her parents’ home in Tennessee. Arencibia also shared some details about his proposal during an interview with ESPN.
“We had it set up that the family was sitting there and I was going to show up at the bottom of the hill and have her see me and have me walk up. They’re a close family and I wanted them there,” he said.
A year later, Perry and Arencibia tied the knot at the First Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, Tennessee. Some of their guests included Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and more.
Around the same time, Perry opened up about her band’s “Pioneer” album and said that she and her siblings had a specific goal when they created it.
“We definitely had a unified goal among the three of us. That tie that bound us all together was that we refused to be a one-hit wonder. Coming off of the heels of a song like ‘If I Die Young’ and gratefully having success on the first album, we were really thrilled to have the opportunity to record again,” she told Elle.
Perry also said she and her siblings wrote around 50 songs for “Pioneer,” but they had to cut it down to just a few that could fit their album. “A lot of times too we’ll road test a song. We continued touring all during the making of the record and so we would try out a song live and see if there was an immediate reaction from the crowd,” she explained.
