A bar owner in Everett, Washington, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting multiple male and female customers over the last several years, police said.

The victims, whose identities were not released, told detectives with the Everett Police Department that they only had a few drinks at the tavern on the 1000 block of Hewitt Avenue in Everett but had no recollection of what happened after, KING-TV reported.

The victims believed that they were sexually assaulted while they were unconscious, police said.

One of the female victims told Everett police that she was at the Anchor Pub last year with friends and only had a couple of drinks, KIRO 7 reported. However, she said she could not remember much of the night.

The woman recalled being in the office with the bar owner and another man. She alleged that they both assaulted her, according to a release from the Everett Police Department. The identities of the two men were not disclosed in the report.

Test results the woman had gotten from a local hospital confirmed that there had been sexual contact.

“Through our investigation, our detectives developed probable cause for several cases of rape and indecent liberties against an Everett business owner,” Everett Police spokesman Aaron Snell was quoted by KIRO 7 as saying.

Snell added that three victims in total have come forward with allegations against the bar owner. Two of the victims accused him of rape, while the third victim accused him of indecent liberties, the spokesperson said. One of those cases involves a man.

The police spokesperson said officers had heard the rumors about the Anchor Pub and the danger to some of its customers, but they had no leads until a woman came forward.

“Oftentimes people don’t come forward because there’s been alcohol involved and/or they don’t know exactly what occurred. And so, sometimes, there’s embarrassment,” Snell explained.

The unnamed bar owner was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail on probable cause for rape and indecent liberties.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday, when more information is expected to be revealed.

The investigation into reports of sexual assault at the bar remains ongoing. Detectives believe there may be other victims.

Police are encouraging others who believe they were victimized at the business to come forward as well so their cases could be investigated.

Those with information related to the case or believe they were victimized can call the Everett Police Department tip line at 425-257-8450.
