Barack Obama praised his wife Michelle Obama amid divorce rumors plaguing them.

Just recently, the former first lady of the United States of America spoke why the Obama Presidential Center selectedJackson Park as its future home. In her speech, Michelle shared her emotional attachment to the south side of Chicago where she worked, raised their kids and brought their first home. She also highlighted that while they consider the place their home it hasn’t felt the same level of investment.

Michelle said that the vision was not just about the Obama Presidential Center but “it’s about the South Side of Chicago. It’s about our neighborhood and community.” She added that it’s about bringing life to a park that maybe protected and loved by its friends but not used by the community.

Several netizens praised Michelle after she shared the organization’s vision. Obama couldn’t help but acknowledge his wife, too. In fact, the politician believes that there is no one who could share the vision of the organization better than his spouse.

“No one says it better than @MichelleObama — the Obama Presidential Center coming to the South Side isn’t for us, it's for the community and the next generation of leaders,” the former president of the United State wrote on Twitter.

For months there have been rumors that Obama and Michelle’s marriage is on the rocks. According to a report from Globe, Michelle was allegedly getting a $150 million divorce. The tabloid claimed that the couple fights over Michelle’s “snooty Hollywood lifestyle” and Obama’s refusal to get a real job after they left the White House.

However, one should take the report with a grain of salt because there was no proof that the Obamas have marital problems. Also, the couple knows the importance of marriage and how it requires real work.

“There are a lot of young people who look at me and Barack ... and they think, ‘Oh, I want those #relationshipgoals,’” Michelle said in her speech at the Essence Festival. “But I want young people to know that marriage is work. Even the best marriages require work.”
