First lady Melania Trump also issued a statement obtained by USA Today, regarding the news, where she said: "We are very excited for our son to attend St. Andrew's Episcopal School. It is known for its diverse community and commitment to academic excellence. The mission of St. Andrew's is 'to know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service,' all of which appealed to our family. We look forward to the coming school years at St. Andrew's."
St. Andrews was founded in 1978 and currently has 580 students in preschool through to the 12th grade. As per the school website, its motto is "Auctus Mentis Spiritusque" which means "The Increase of Mind and Spirit."
Barron will enroll in sixth grade, and according to the school website, annual tuition for its middle school students is $38, 590. If Barron attends the school for the following six years, it will cost his parents over $200,000 with fees. The tuition at Barron’s previous school in Manhattan cost $46,000 per year.
Melania along with her son will move into the White House this summer. They had been living in Trump Tower in New York since the president took office in January.
Barron will move to Washington D.C. after finishing fifth grade at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in Manhattan.
His new school, St. Andrews boasts of its "Research-informed teaching" techniques on its website.
"Research shows that the single most important factor in developing each student’s potential is the quality of his or her teacher. At St. Andrew’s, every member of our Preschool through Grade 12 faculty is trained in Mind, Brain, and Education Science. This knowledge of how the brain learns allows teachers to take the latest research and implement it into their classrooms," the school website read.

It also claims 100 percent of its students graduate and go on to college. A few Ivy League schools such as Dartmouth College, Cornell University and Brown University are included in St. Andrew’s college acceptance list.
“St. Andrew’s strives to challenge and support all of its students in a balanced program to nurture their academic, artistic, athletic, and spiritual growth,” said the school’s statement of philosophy on their website.
eBay founder Pierre Omidyar also attended St. Andrew’s, graduating from the school in 1984.
St. Andrew’s administration also assured other families of students already studying at the school that despite Barron attending, they would try their best to avoid disruption.
“School leaders are working directly with the Secret Service to ensure that Postoak Campus logistics and security will continue to work smoothly and discreetly next year for all of our students and families. We are committed to maintaining the positive feel, flow, and safety of our campuses,” a letter from the school, obtained by CNN, said.
