'The Batman': Robert Pattinson Recalls Worst Day Of Filming, Which Took 40 Takes
Robert Pattinson says he once had to do 40 takes for a scene while shooting "The Batman." He dubbed it the "worst day" of filming.
Director Matt Reeves, who accompanied Pattinson for a Q&A session Monday, revealed that he loves to call the actors to see the take, ScreenRant reported.
"One of the things I love to do when I'm working with actors is say, 'Well come take a look,'" Reeves said. "And [Rob would] be like, 'How can that not be enough? I'm overacting. It's ridiculous.' And I'd say, 'Come take a look, Rob.' He'd go, 'Oh, you can't see my eyes.'"
Pattinson replied, "That was maybe the worst day of the whole shoot, because I really, genuinely thought it was you that was wrong."
"And then I was like, 'How can we be doing 40 takes?' And then you're like, 'Just come and look at it.' And I was looking at it and I go, 'Wow, I just look like — there's nothing,'" the 35-year-old actor added.
Reeves also praised the actor's understanding of the technicality of movie-making. "Thank God I had Rob to work with," the director added.
"The Batman" is slated to release in theaters on March 4 and will start streaming on HBO Max from April 19. The trailer of the movie was released in December. The movie also stars Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Barry Keoghan, Andy Serkis and Jayme Lawson.
Batman was originally introduced in DC comics in 1939. The upcoming movie is a reboot of the Batman movie franchise.
Pattinson is popularly known for working in the "Twilight" movies. The actor has also been a part of various other projects, including "The Lighthouse," "The King," "Waiting for the Barbarians," "Tenet" and "The Devil All the Time."
Reeves will serve as a producer in various projects, including "Lift," "Button Man: The Killing Game," "Way Station" and "Mouse Guard."
