'The Batman': Halle Berry Advices Zoe Kravitz To Be 'Courageous' While Playing Catwoman
Halle Berry, who played Catwoman in 2004 has some advice for Zoe Kravitz, who will be portraying the new version of Catwoman in the upcoming movie, "The Batman."
Berry said she would tell Zoe to "Just be courageous and bring her own interpretation to the role," PopCulture reported. "I think she's going to be an amazing Catwoman. And I can't wait to see what her interpretation of that is," Berry said Wednesday.
While Berry is supportive of Kravitz portraying Catwoman in the upcoming movie, she shared her own desire to direct "Catwoman" remake in the future.
"I would love to direct Catwoman," Berry said on the "Jake's Takes" show in November 2021. "If I can get ahold of that now, knowing what I know, having had this experience, and reimagine that world the way I reimagined this story."
Berry also shared some ideas that she had regarding redoing the "Catwoman."
"I would have Catwoman saving the world like most male superheroes do and not just saving women from their faces cracking off, y’know, make the stakes a lot higher. And I think make it more inclusive of both men and women," she explained.
Berry already made her directorial debut with sports drama, "Bruised," which was released on Nov. 17, last year.
Considering the 2004’s "Catwoman," the movie revolves around a shy girl who gets qualities and senses of a cat. The character had shades of both -- a hero and a criminal. The movie was directed by Pitof and starred Sharon Stone, Benjamin Bratt, Frances Conroy and James Lloyd Reynolds.
"The Batman," on the other hand, is slated to release in theaters on March 4 and will start streaming on HBO Max from April 19. The movie is helmed by director Matt Reeves and will star Robert Pattinson as Batman.
On the work front, Berry will be seen in a sci-fi action movie, "Moonfall," which is slated to release Friday. The movie is helmed by director Roland Emmerich and it also stars Kelly Yu, Patrick Wilson, John Bradley and Charlie Plummer.
The actress will also feature in another sci-fi drama, "The Mothership," which is directed by Matt Charman. The movie is under post-production.
