'Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice' Actress Gal Gadot Is Gearing Up For Major Comedy Role
Gal Gadot who is set to appear as Wonder Woman in the much anticipated film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” recently spoke to Interview magazine about her upcoming films and how she is exploring different avenues of acting. The 30-year-old Israeli actress will be seen soon in a full-fledged comedy role in “Keeping Up with the Joneses” opposite Jon Hamm and in heist drama “Triple Nine” with Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The actress is reportedly excited to show her acting prowess in various movie genres. She is currently shooting in Atlanta for “Keeping Up With the Joneses” and, according to her, the film is “extremely funny.”
“This is the first major comedy role that I've done; I had a small role in Date Night [2010]. But it's going great. I'm playing Natalie Jones, who's married to Tim Jones [played by Hamm], and they're spies who work for the agency and are sent to suburbia for a mission,” she said.
She added that though she is approaching her role with utter seriousness, comedy comes naturally to her. Reportedly, the humor in the film is about the best punch lines that can make the audience laugh. She also praised her co-stars, Hamm, Zach Galifianakis, and Isla Fisher, and said that the vibe on the film’s set is great and she is having fun working with the cast.
Meanwhile, in “Triple Nine” Gadot will part of an ensemble cast led by Woody Harrelson. It concerns a group of criminals and apostate police officers who are blackmailed to plot a heist.
“I play opposite Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Both are so talented. That film was also shot in Atlanta. Different vibe, very serious and dark. Kate and I had a very good bond. I'm used to shooting movies that are male dominated,” said Gadot about the film.
Directed by John Hillcaot, “Triple Nine” is set for a March 4, 2016, release. Gadot will also be seen in the Ryan Reynolds-Kevin Costner action thriller, “Criminal,” which will open January 2016.
