Zoë Kravitz has opened up about Catwoman's look in the highly anticipated "The Batman." The 33-year-old actress explained the idea behind the claw-like nails that she flaunted in the newly released trailer of the movie.

"It was an extremely collaborative process — in all the ways, in terms of the character and how she looked and what she was wearing," Kravitz told Buzzfeed on Monday.

The "High Fidelity" star said discussions about Catwoman's look started two years back when the movie's costume designer came to New York to meet her after she was finalized for the part.

"Matt [Reeves] is an extremely collaborative filmmaker who likes to get to know the person playing the character, so I didn't have to fight for anything — it was designed that way," she added.

Kravitz explained how they developed the costume together as a team. She said the claw-like nails weren't part of the original plan. The actress pitched the idea to the team during the quarantine period.

"We shot two months before quarantine and everything shut down, so in that time, I started to grow my nails out because we couldn't get manicures, and then I had this idea to take it further," she said. "So I called Matt and was like, I have this idea, we should do crazy, bitchy, wonderful scary nails that looked like claws."

The actress disclosed that they decided not to put any nail polish on them to ensure they looked more like claws. "We were able to incorporate it last minute," she concluded.

Warner Bros. Pictures shared "The Batman" trailer on Tuesday, which flaunted the chemistry between Batman, played by Robert Pattinson, and Catwoman.

"The Batman" is slated to release in theaters on March 4, 2022, and it will start streaming on HBO Max from April 19.

Besides "The Batman," Kravitz will also feature in a crime thriller, "Kimi," which is slated to release on Feb. 10, 2022.
