'Battlefield 4' 50 Million Vehicle Challenge Among EA DICE Player Appreciation Month Missions
EA's newest mission asks gamers to "bring out the big guns."
EA DICE just launched a new challenge for the ‘BF4’ community. The developer advised gamers to “bring out the big guns” to embark on the dangerous endeavor of destroying 50 million vehicles in six days.
After the previous mission of collecting more than 10 million dog tags proved a success, EA DICE wanted to test just how dedicated “Battlefield 4” fans were to the brand’s Player Appreciation Month.
The community mission began Thursday at 7 a.m. PST/10 a.m. EST/4 p.m. CET and ends next Wednesday at the same hour.
DICE promises that if the goal is reached within this time, all participating players across all formats will receive a Gold Battlepack on their EA Origin account on Feb. 27.
Players can track their progress on the company’s Battlelog under the “missions” tab. The results will be available Wednesday.
In the first DICE Community Mission on Feb. 5, EA challenged “BF4” players to collect 10 million dog tags using melee attacks. The mission ran across all “BF4” platforms and ended on Tuesday. Players actually surpassed the goal, collecting nearly 11.5 million dog tags by when the mission closed.
On Feb. 1, EA DICE launched Player Appreciation Month for “Battlefield 4” gamers. DICE General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson stated that the developer was offering “a month filled with fun community missions and daily giveaways that you get just for jumping into a match” during the entire month of February.
Troedsson also admitted, "We are further improving a number of items commonly referred to as 'netcode.' This will tighten the overall multiplayer experience, and we will be able to share these items with you in detail soon." EA will also be offering special bonuses and hosting multiple events.
"In this added social layer, you can team up with your friends to create your own social space and accumulate stats together. We’re also working on other feature additions that you’ve been asking for -- stay tuned for more,” Troedsson added, assuring players that platoons would be returning this month. More details were given via “Battlefield’s” blog.
