KEY POINTS

- Poarch said Grimes accidentally punching her was the "best part" of the shoot
- Poarch received a piece of impactful advice from her fellow artist about managing anxiety
Bella Poarch is opening up about her experience working with Grimes for her "Dolls" music video.
In a new interview, the 25-year-old singer said that the punch Grimes accidentally gave her while filming the music video earlier this year was the "best part" of the shoot.
"She was in character the whole time and she accidentally punched me," Poarch exclusively told E! News for the release of her Funko Pop collectible. "But honestly, that was like the best part of shooting that music video."
She added, "When could you ever tell anybody like, 'Oh yeah, I got punched by Grimes.' Who can say that? Me."
Aside from the punch she got from the "Oblivion" artist, Poarch said she received a piece of impactful advice from Elon Musk's ex about managing anxiety.
"Because I'm a very anxious person, and so even right now I'm very anxious, she taught me to just express myself no matter what," Poarch said of Grimes. "Me expressing myself through music has helped me the most and being friends with her just helped me open up a lot about things that I'm going through."
She continued, "It is just good to have friends that are understanding and always pushing you to be the best."
In addition to the "Genesis" artist, some of Poarch's friends, including Bretman Rock and Madison Beer, also made a cameo in the music video.
Poarch said she is thankful for their support and loves having her pals feature in her music videos because "it's fun when you're around people that you love." She added that working with her friends takes the stress away from shoots.
Looking back, the "Living Hell" singer said that her friends have always been around since she could remember. Her first Funko Pop was a Darth Vader that she received from one of them, and it led her to collect more.
But Poarch said she never expected that she would one day have her own image.
"Now that I'm a Funko Pop, it seems still like not real. It's crazy," she added.
The Funko Pop team designed the collectible item after Poarch's appearance in her first music video, "Build A Babe." For the artist, it was a "very iconic outfit" with her pigtails, and the ax made it look "very bada--."
