Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner's Messy Divorce Drama Revisited; Where Is Christine Ouzounian Now?

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner shocked fans when they announced their decision to split in 2015. In a joint statement released to the media, the “Daredevil” stars did not reveal the main reason behind the divorce filing. However, Jennifer shared, in a 2017 interview, that she was not happy with the state of her marriage.

“I would not have chosen this life for myself or for my kids,” the “Peppermint” actress told news.com.au. “I would not choose to be single or be in this position,” she went on.

There were also reports saying that Jennifer wanted Ben to address his addiction to alcohol at the time. “Jen wanted to give Ben the time and opportunity to work on his health and sobriety…she isn’t in a rush,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Jen just isn’t willing to settle the custody issues until she’s 100 percent certain that he’s clean. She’ll wait for him to prove he is taking it very seriously,” it continued.

Some news outlets even claimed that the “Argo” actor's illicit affair with the family’s nanny, Christine Ouzounian, was the primary cause of the breakup. Rumors claimed that Christine asked some paparazzi to take snaps of her with Ben during a late-night hook-up amid the ex-couple’s messy divorce drama. There were even reports saying that Ben Affleck helped her stay at a posh Ben Air hotel. The nanny was, allegedly, seen donning designer fashion pieces and driving top-of-the-line cars in Los Angeles.

However, Jennifer Garner was quick to debunk the speculations. The “13 Going on 30” actress said she and Ben Affleck were, already, separated for months before she heard about Christine’s rumored relationship with her ex-partner.

A source close to Ben and Jennifer, also, told E! News that Christine did not cause the divorce. It added that the “Gone Girl” actor did not cheat on his former ladylove since he did not anyone while they were still together. The same tipster clarified that Ben and Christine never had a romantic relationship.

Approximately five years since the infamous split, Woman’s Day New Zealand shared an update about the Garner-Affleck family’s former nanny. The entertainment publication claimed Christine is, now, working in an insurance company after she quit “nannying.”
