Ben Affleck apparently slipped back into old drinking habits during a party over the weekend. The Oscar-winning writer, director, and iconic “Batman” and "Gone Girl" actor was spotted on Oct. 26 in a TMZ video stumbling around and looking for his car in what appeared to be a skull mask. The 47-year-old was returning from the UNICEF Masquerade Ball in West Hollywood, California.

Affleck’s next stop was that night was to a casino where he held himself up long enough to win big at the poker table. He was seen with his rumored new girlfriend, a young blonde woman he’s been speculated to be dating for some time now.

The same day he was seen stumbling around with her, he took to Instagram to confirm that he is "dating." He also used that opportunity to inform his fans to “talk about something that is actually important.” The post regarded an organization that helps those who are in recovery, such as himself.

“I have been in recovery for over a year and part of that is helping out others,” he said in the Instagram post.

When approached by TMZ the following day, the actor admitted he’d stumbled in his sobriety, though he did not respond to questions about a potential return to rehab. In the footage, Affleck is shown at the house of his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 47, where paparazzi ask him about his night out.

“It happens,” he said. “It’s a slip, but I’m not going to let it derail me.”

The marriage between Affleck and Garner ended in 2015, yet she was partially responsible for getting him back into rehab in August 2018. Affleck has, unfortunately, publicly struggled with alcoholism for the better part of two decades and has had at least two different stints in rehab. The good news is he’s still fully committed to his sobriety, despite this one slip-up.
