  • These apps allow users to listen to radio stations

iPhones are some of the best smartphones around. Users can do a lot of things on these devices, including listening to their favorite music and playlists via streaming apps like Spotify, Apple Music and Pandora.

There are times, however, when an iPhone user might want to break away from the usual playlist. Sadly, the iPhone doesn't have a built-in FM radio tuners. Thankfully, the App Store has some great apps for the purpose. Here are some of the best FM Radio apps iPhone users can download and install on their handsets.

TuneIn Radio

TuneIn Radio is an FM radio app that displays popular local radio stations and allows users to listen to Podcasts. It also allows users to listen to news and sports, in addition to music and podcasts.

Like iHeartRadio, TuneIn Radio also displays local radio stations based on the user's location. The music player allows jumping 30 seconds forwards or backward with one tap. There's even a timer feature that lets users set a timer when the app will turn off. It also has a car mode.

TuneIn Radio has a free version that comes with banner ads. It also has a paid version where users have to pay $10 a month to remove ads on news stations and lessen ads on radio stations.

iHeartRadio

iHeartRadio is a free to download FM radio app that works in Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and the U.S. It has an easy to use interface and allows users to listen to both radio stations and podcasts.

iHeartRadio showcases local radio stations based on the user's actual location. It also allows users to choose from live radio stations, artist radio and more from the home screen. Users can also choose from a variety of music genres, or choose to listen to the top hits and more.

Users can also follow specific Radio artists so they can know more of the artist, and be updated if the artist has new releases available for listening.

myTuner Radio

MyTuner Radio, like the other two apps above, displays radio stations based on location. It, however, allows users to browse stations by city. It has a car mode, allows forward/backward 15 seconds, has a sleep timer, and more.

What's interesting about myTuner Radio is that it offers support for Siri shortcuts, and has equalizer support for those who like to personalize their listening experience. The app has a free version, but paying a one-time fee of $7 will let users enjoy all of the app's features.
