BET Awards: Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Falls During Performance; Makes Light Of Mishap
Sean “Diddy” Combs took a tumble at the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards in Los Angeles Sunday night. Last Monday, he was arrested and released following a brawl with Sal Alosi, a football coach at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Combs was reportedly performing a twentieth-anniversary tribute to his Bad Boy Records label, along with hip-hop artists including Lil' Kim, Faith Evans, Pharrell Williams and other artists, when he fell in to a hole in the stage. The fall did not faze the 45-year-old rapper as he quickly got up and continued with his performance appearing unhurt, Reuters reported.
Combs took the mishap in a fun way and posted a clip of his fall on Instagram captioning: "IF YOU EVER FALL DOWN, get your ass up and FIGHT!!!!!!! [sic]
"But really though, I crack up every time I see this s---! It's like I f------ disappeared. HAAAAAA!!!! I was scared as f--- but I had to get up!"
Combs' troubles at the BET Awards did not end there. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, he also flubbed his lines during his tribute to soul icon Smokey Robinson, and had to ask for the teleprompter to be restarted.
However, Combs is not alone when it comes to onstage spills. In February, Madonna fell after her cape snagged on a dancer's costume. U2's The Edge took a tumble on the stage in Vancouver in May.
