Beyoncé Album Rumors: Why The ‘Drunk In Love’ Singer Reportedly Delayed Releasing New Music
Beyonce is reportedly sitting on new music, but isn’t quite ready to release it yet. Rumors suggest the 34-year-old singer finished her sixth studio album at the end of last year but wants to wait to drop it until the “hype” surrounding Adele’s “25” calms down.
Beyonce is sticking to a “code of honor” so the two singers’ albums won’t have to compete against each other, according to the Sun (via the Daily Mail).
“Beyonce doesn’t have the pressure of releasing an album and is doing bits here and there because she and her team know it is Adele’s time to shine,” the media outlet’s source said. “The last few months have been all about [Adele’s] comeback.”
The outlet also claims that Beyonce could announce her new album during Super Bowl 50 next month. It is rumored the “Drunk In Love” singer will join Coldplay onstage for the halftime show at the NFL showcase Feb. 7.
There has been a bunch of speculation surrounding Beyonce’s new album. A few months ago, reports surfaced she was filming a music video at the Superdome in New Orleans, and Digital Spy said there’s rumors she collaborated on a few songs with model-actress Cara Delevingne, Future and Mike Will Made-It. Beyonce was also photographed in a studio with “Cha Cha” singer DRAM.
If Beyonce does release a new record soon, it will follow the trail blazed by her 2013 self-titled album. She dropped “Beyonce,” along with 14 music videos, in December of that year with no previous promotion.
