Beyoncé Denies Splurging For $312,000 On Shoes
Beyoncé has denied reports that she purchased a pair of heels for 200,000 pounds ($312,000). The singer had reportedly bought a pair of jewel-encrusted sandals from House of Borgezie for her new music video. But her representative has denied the claims, telling that the story is “absolutely not true.”
The 33-year-old pop star’s stilettos are reportedly from the Princess Constellation collection of Birmingham-based designer Christopher Michael Shellis. It was said that Beyoncé bought the pair for her new video, due for release this fall. The dazzling stilettos are encrusted with 1,290 precious stones, the design of which is inspired by Paul Simon’s hit song “Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes.”
Beyoncé’s team reportedly approached the British label after spotting a pair of their shoes in an article in the American press, and got in touch on behalf of the star to buy the shoes for her project.
The designer later confirmed the purchase. “It’s the ultimate. Beyoncé’s one of those fantasy customers. If you want someone to model your creations, you can't get any better than Beyoncé, Shellis told the Birmingham Mail about the lavish purchase.
He said his stilettos for the super-rich do not just look good, they are a good investment. Shellis called the shoes the “ultimate in feminine adornment, and the crown jewels of stilettos.”
And the “Single Ladies” singer is said to have also picked up a gold Basque belt worth 55,000 pounds ($85,824) to accessorize her show-stopping ensemble for the new album, Hello reported.
Meanwhile, the “Crazy in Love” singer recently teamed up with Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti to collaborate on a pair of shoes. The 57-year-old designer revealed that the pair will be “ultra-thick platform” shoes with a stiletto heel, adding the pop superstar played an active role in the design process. He also said Beyoncé was very clear about what she wanted. Her shoe closet boasts high-end fashion labels like Balmain, Versace, Diesel, Givenchy and Chanel.
