Beyonce grabbed much of the limelight at the MTV Video Music Awards with her pregnany announcement and broke a Twitter record of 8,868 tweets per second when she showed her baby bump after her performance.
The last highest Twitter record was of 7,196, after Japan won over U.S. in the Women’s World Cup final in July.
Beyonce with her four months pregnancy is expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z.
Not just Twitter, MTV also saw a record of 2.3 million video streams for the day. MTV.com attracted the biggest VMA day audience ever— nearly 2 million and MTV’s mobile site scored its biggest mobile views per day ever.
