‘Big Little Lies’ Star Nicole Kidman Celebrates 50th Birthday With Special Greetings From Reese Witherspoon, Naomi Watts

Nicole Kidman celebrated her 50^th birthday on Tuesday, June 20, and her “Big Little Lies” co-star, Reese Witherspoon and good friend Naomi Watts paid tribute to the Australian actress.

On her Instagram account, Witherspoon posted a photo of herself with Kidman on the set of the hit HBO limited series. Witherspoon called Kidman her dear friend and expressed how much she loves her. Watts also posted a snap of herself and Kidman hugging each other. The “Gypsy” actress called Keith Urban’s wife a beautiful woman and said that she’s happy to have shared wonderful experiences with her for the past three decades.

According to People, Kidman and Watts first worked together in the 1991 film, “Flirting.” But before starring in big screen project, Watts told the publication that she and Kidman already knew each other. “We’ve gone through a lot together over a significant amount of time. That history binds you. We have a strong respect and love for one another,” she said.

Kidman celebrated her special day with her husband and two daughters, Sunday, 8, and Faith, 6. On her Facebook account (via the Daily Mail), the actress posted a hilarious photo of herself acting as though she is about to bite into her huge strawberry cake. The award-winning actress also thanked everyone who greeted her on her birthday.

Prior to her birthday, Kidman told E! News that she doesn’t have anything huge or fancy planned. “I want to hang with my divine husband and my kids and my sister. I’ve already been to Australia and saw my mom and it’s too far for her to travel but my sister is coming over with all her children. She has six kids… That’s it for me. I don’t need any big parties; I just need my family around me. If I have my family around me, I’m happy,” she said.

Kidman most recently starred in HBO’s “Big Little Lies” as Celeste, an abused mother of two. There are rumors that the actress may reprise her role in Season 2, but HBO hasn’t made an official renewal announcement yet. “Big Little Lies” aired its final episode on April 2.
