Billie Eilish Admits She Used A Body Double At Coachella: 'Nobody Ever Knew It'
Billie Eilish has revealed she used a body double during her performance at the 2022 Coachella Music Festival in April.
"The beginning of Coachella, I had a body double, one of my dancers for the show," the 20-year-old singer said on the "The Matt Wilkinson Show" podcast Tuesday. "I dressed her up in a show look that I had worn before."
Eilish shared how she and her team helped the body double to look exactly like her. The singer made her wear a black wig with buns.
"We gave her a mask and sunglasses and she wore my shoes and my socks," she added. "I put her up at the back of the stage and she stood there while the lights went on and everybody thought it was me. And nobody ever knew it wasn't me, literally nobody knew. And while she's up there, I put on a big black coat and a traffic vest and a hood and just glasses."
When the singer was asked if she had ever disguised as someone else just to attend other musicians' performances, Eilish said "yes" but it "didn't work" for her.
"Yeah, but I was a different person then and it didn't work," she confessed. "I've done it though, occasionally in different places, and it's really nice when you're able to do it."
Eilish performed an unreleased track, titled "TV," at her "Happier Than Ever, The World Tour" concert in Manchester, England, earlier this month.
About the performance, the singer said, "It was pretty random actually. Nobody thought about it. Our plane was delayed a couple weeks ago and we were sitting outside somewhere, and I was just listening to songs that I have written and never did anything with like all in my phone and my voice memos and stuff."
She described how she found a couple of songs on her phone that she had written before. "I just had this idea of like, 'What if we just did them live?'"
Apart from her musical projects, Eilish was featured on the Netflix series "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction" hosted by David Letterman. It was released on May 20.
