Billie Eilish Falls On Stage During Coachella: 'It Was Pitch Black' [Video]
Billie Eilish accidentally fell on the stage during her Coachella performance over the weekend. While the fans didn't actually see her falling, the singer explained the accident happened because it was "pitch black."
The 20-year-old singer missed a step on the stage and fell on her face during Saturday night's performance at the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Empire Polo Club, California.
"I just ate s--t! Ouch! You guys, I just ate ass up here," Eilish said while laughing at herself. "Seriously. It was pitch black. You see that square? This f--king thing? I went de-de-de-de-de and fell onto my face!"
A Twitter user shared a video where Eilish could be heard talking to her fans from the stage (without lights). However, once the lights are on, she begins her performance immediately.
Eilish was joined by singer Hayley Williams for Saturday's performance.
"Oh, look! An empty seat. Who's that for? Everybody, can we please welcome my friend Hayley Williams!" Eilish said before Williams took the stage and said, "This is my first Coachella, whoa. Thanks for sharing this with me. This is sick!"
Eilish and Williams performed the "Happier Than Ever" title track together.
Eilish, who made history as the youngest artist to headline Coachella, gave a shoutout to Beyoncé during her first week's performance. Beyoncé headlined the event in 2018. "Thank you, Coachella! I'm sorry I'm not Beyoncé," Eilish said last week. "I love you."
The singer also expressed her excitement and disbelief as she was chosen to headline the event.
"This is so weird," she told the crowd, CNN reported. "I should not be headlining this s--t. But I'm so f--king grateful that I'm here, and that you guys are all here. This is such a dream come true. I feel crazy."
Besides Eilish, Coachella Weekend 2 witnessed performances of various artists, including Megan Thee Stallion, Flume, Conan Gray and Koffee.
Eilish was last seen in the music video "Male Fantasy," which was dropped on Dec. 6 last year. She also dropped her second studio album, "Happier Than Ever," last July.
