Billie Eilish Raids Shopping Mall In ‘Therefore I Am’ Music Video, See Fans’ Reactions
Fans are applauding Billie Eilish following the premiere of her new music video, “Therefore I am.”
The 18-year-old directed the music video, which was shot in an empty Glendale Galleria shopping mall. In the video, Eilish can be seen running around the mall and jumping behind the counters of Wetzel’s Pretzels, Hot Dog on a Stick, Chipotle, and other eateries to grab food.
In the video, Eilish sings, “I’m not your friend or anything / Damn, you think that you’re the man / I think, therefore, I am.”
Eilish released the song on Thursday, and it quickly began trending on Twitter with fans praising her mall adventure.
“Just watched Billie run around a mall by herself stealing food for 5 minutes straight. Not at all disappointed,” one person wrote.
Another person added, “4 minute video of Billie running through a shopping mall while stealing food. literally iconic. @billieeilish #BillieEilish #ThereforeIAm.”
Meanwhile, one person suggested that Eilish’s food choices at the mall were a jab at the haters who body-shamed the singer in the past.
“This clip must have represented that she no longer cares about the mean comments about her body lov u Billie,” the individual wrote attached to a photo of the singer looking at donuts.
Eilish’s “Therefore I Am” video comes after a photo of the singer wearing a spaghetti-strap tank top and shorts, rather than her signature baggy clothes, was posted online. At the time, the Twitter user body-shamed the five-time Grammy award winner.
“In 10 months Billie Eilish has developed a mid-30’s wine mom body,” the tweet read.
In her 2019 Calvin Klein ad, Eilish revealed that she typically wore baggy clothes so people couldn’t discuss her body.
“I never want the world to know everything about me,” she said for the campaign.
“I mean, that’s why I wear big, baggy clothes—nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath, you know?”
Eilish added, “No one can say any of that because they don’t know.”
Two hours following its premiere, “Therefore I Am” has already received over 350,000 views on YouTube.
