Billie Eilish Surprises Fans With New Tracks 'TV' And 'The 30th'

Billie Eilish fans are in for a treat. The 20-year-old singer has announced the arrival of her "Guitar Songs" EP, which features two fresh tracks — "TV" and "The 30th."

Eilish took to Instagram Thursday to share a faded photo, which appears to show a portion of her face. In the caption, she wrote, "A little surprise for youuuuuuuu…… TWO NEW ONES!!!! 'TV' and 'The 30th' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! these songs mean so so much to me,"

"I am so happy for them to be yours. ❤ ️ 'Guitar Songs' OUT NOW!!!!!" the singer continued.

As expected, her avid fans could not contain their excitement upon seeing the announcement. Many of them even expressed how shocked they were because of the news.

"Literally sobbing listening. ur so amazing," a fan wrote in the Instagram post's comments section, while another noted, "IM SO SHOCKED." Another supporter simply said, "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG."

Eilish also shared the official lyric videos of the two songs on her YouTube channel. "TV" has amassed more than 730,000 views as of writing.

As for "The 30th," it has so far garnered nearly 770,000 views.

The singer opened up about "The 30th" during her guesting on "The Zane Lowe Show" podcast Thursday.

"We wrote that on December 30th, and that was actually the first song that we had written since 'Happier Than Ever' that's why it's called 'The 30th' because something happened on November 30th," Eilish said, as per ET Canada. "And it had just been the most indescribable thing to have to witness and experience."

The lyrics of "The 30th" talks about a person who wakes up in the hospital following a traffic accident. Eilish credits her 24-year-old brother, FINNEAS, for writing it with her.

"TV," on the other hand, makes references to the supreme court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, as well as the controversial legal battle between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard. "The internet's gone wild watching movie stars on trial / While they're overturning Roe v. Wade," two lines in the song say.

According to Eilish, these two lines were added to the song even before the supreme court's decision was finalized on June 24.

"We wrote that line a few weeks before it was officially overturned. It was a placeholder of doom," she recalled. "I mean, it was the day of Glastonbury that it happened."

This year's run of Glastonbury, a well-known music festival, took place from June 22 to 26.

"We were at this house, and I was sitting with the dogs in the grass," she continued. "My mom came out, and she just stood there, and she went, 'They overturned it.' We all were just like… God, it was like a curtain of doom."

"It's a really scary world right now," Eilish said further.
