Billie Lourd Finally Opens Up About Mother's, Grandmother’s Deaths: ‘Your Love And Support Means The World To Me’
“Scream Queens” star Billie Lourd has been kept mum since her mother, Carrie Fisher, and grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, passed away last December. It has been an extremely difficult time for the actress, but just recently, she opened up about their passing on her social media page.
Lourd posted a throwback photo of the three of them together. She had her tongue out, while her mother leaned on her and Reynolds was looking straight at the camera with glasses on. She said she will always miss both ladies, and she is extremely grateful for all the love and support friends, family and fans have given them.
Fans continued to shower Lourd with support after her post. “Sending all my love and continuing to pray for you; I’m so glad to hear the support you've received is helping you find strength in such a terrible situation,” a fan wrote. “And of course remember that grief is personal and there's no right or wrong way to cope; just feel what you're feeling and express it however works best for you.”
Another added: “You are being prayed for all over the globe. I pray God surrounds you with more love than you can imagine. Your momma and grandma will always be with you.”
Fisher, 60, died unexpectedly on Dec. 27 after suffering a heart attack while on board an airplane, according to Entertainment Weekly. Her mother, Reynolds, 84, passed away the next day after suffering from a stroke.
Reynolds is survived by her son, Todd Fisher. “The last thing she said this morning was that she was very, very sad about losing Carrie and that she would like to be with her again,” Fisher told The Guardian about his mother’s death. “Fifteen minutes later she suffered a severe stroke.”
Reynolds had Carrie and Todd with ex-husband Eddie Fisher, a singer. They got a divorce after Fisher was caught having an affair with actress Elizabeth Taylor.
