‘Black Lightning’: Jefferson Vows To Kill Tobias In Season 1, Episode 6
Jefferson Pierce seeks revenge for the murder of his father in the next episode of “Black Lightning.”
The synopsis for Season 1, episode 6 of the CW series states that Jefferson (Cress Williams) is back on the hunt for his father’s killer.
In the trailer for the hour, Jefferson says that he witnessed how his father, Alvin Pierce, died. “I watched Tobias [Whale] (Marvin “Krondon” James III) murder my father,” Jefferson tells Gambi (James Remar). “[So] I’m gonna take him out.”
In a flashback scene in the trailer, a young Jefferson is seen hiding underneath a bed as he sees the final moments of his dad at the hands of Tobias and two of his henchmen.
Gambi tries to calm Jefferson down by pointing out that what he’s planning to do with Tobias is a “cold-blooded murder.” While it’s unclear whether Gambi would be able to stop Jefferson from killing the leader of The 100, the tailor — according to the synopsis — begs for help from Lynn (Christine Adams). It remains to be seen, however, whether this has something to do with Jefferson’s plan to avenge the death of his father.
Meanwhile, Tobias is also on the hunt for Black Lightning. In the trailer, Lady Eve (Jill Scott) continues to pressure Tobias to deal with Black Lightning once and for all. And at the end of the video, Tobias declares that Black Lightning won’t live out the night.
Elsewhere in the episode, Jennifer (China Anne McClain) grapples with some difficult choices, while while Anissa (Nafessa Williams) uses her new powers to rectify a wrong after a protest fails.
In the trailer, Anissa is seen inside what appears to be a laboratory. Interestingly, a quick shot in the promo clip also shows Jefferson in the same facility. Will Jefferson finally find out what Anissa has been up to lately?
While Cress Williams wouldn’t reveal when Jefferson is going to discover that Anissa also has superpowers, the actor previously told Entertainment Weekly that he thinks Jefferson will feel fear more than anything else when he learns about it. “Majority of it is going to be fear,” the actor said. “He’s been through it. He knows what it takes and the toll that it takes. He knows the danger that’s involved. There’s going to be that fear. He also knows his ex-wife and how she feels about it. I think it’s going to have a profound effect on his family.”
“Black Lightning” Season 1, episode 6, titled “Three Sevens: The Book of Thunder,” airs on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
