Black Lives Matter Toronto Leader Calls Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau 'A White Supremacist Terrorist'

A Black Lives Matter activist called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a "white supremacist terrorist" during a speech at a rally in downtown Toronto on Saturday.

A video uploaded to YouTube showed the activist, reported to be Yusra Khogali, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Toronto, standing on top of a car and delivering a speech condemning Trudeau during a protest against President Donald Trump's travel ban, BlogTO reported.

Khogali also called Trudeau a "liar" and a "hypocrite."

"When Justin Trudeau responded to the Muslim ban that this coward, this white supremacist coward, Donald Trump, put forward, what did Justin Trudeau say?" Khogali can be seen saying in the video. "He said he wanted to accept everyone who is not allowed into the U.S. border to Canada. Don't cheer! Do not cheer, because we know what exactly that is. We know what that manipulation is."

"It is what this country is founded on: erasure and silencing of the real history of this land, the genocide of indigenous people on which this state is founded on, the enslavement and genocide of black people on which this state founded on, the indentured slavery of racialized people on which this state is founded on."

She continued: "When Justin Trudeau says that, he is a liar, he is a hypocrite, he is a white supremacist terrorist. That is what he is. Do not be fooled by this Liberal bullshit."

Trudeau was praised by liberal groups after he tweeted support for refugees in response to Trump's executive temporary travel ban on visitors from seven Muslim-majority countries.

But just a few days after Trudeau's tweet, Canadian Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen said that Canada would not be increasing the number of refugees it planned on accepting, prompting Black Lives Matter Toronto to post a message co-signed by a variety of activist groups on its Facebook page containing a series of demands. One of the demands was a call on Canada to "immediately open the Canada-USA border and grant permanent, not temporary, status" to refugees.

The activists also called for "the revocation of the Safe Third Country Agreement which bars most refugee claimants entering from the United States over land to claim asylum in Canada," as well as the elimination of "the Designated Country of Origin list, which makes it almost impossible for US citizens and citizens of 40 other countries to claim asylum in Canada." Refugees fearful of Trump administration asylum policy are increasingly walking from the U.S. into Canada.

Last year during Black History Month, Khogali was the center of a media firestorm after she tweeted "Plz Allah give me strength not to cuss/kill these men and white folks out here today."

Khogali wrote in a commentary for the Star.com that the tweet was a response to being "bombarded by tweets from white men asking me to prove that racism, Islamophobia and misogyny exist."

Last year, Trudeau praised Black Lives Matter during an appearance on a Canadian morning show.

"I congratulate people who keep calling and challenging us — whether it's Black Lives Matter or indigenous activists — saying we need to do more, we need to do better," Trudeau told CTV host Ben Mulroney last August. "We agree. I agree. And that's what we're very much working on."
