"The Blacklist" Season 9, episode 19 paid tribute to a late member of the NBC series' crew.

Friday's episode, "The Bear Mask," centered on Aram (Amir Arison) confronting his demons and insecurities and finally dealing with his past trauma.

But some viewers of "The Blacklist" were confused when episode 19 concluded with an emotional title card dedicated to a person named Kurt Perez.

"Can someone please remind me who Kurt Perez was? (character-wise)," one fan tweeted, with another viewer adding, "Me too! So sorry not to know."

A third Twitter user suggested, "I don’t think he was an actor. Probably part of the production crew."

Perez was a member of the crew who tragically passed earlier this year "at far too young an age," according to CarterMatt. He was "an unsung hero for a lot of what you see on-screen" and "was very much beloved to some others who work on the NBC series," the outlet said.

It is not clear what his role was in the production crew, and little information is available on Perez.

This is not the first time "The Blacklist" has paid tribute to a late member of the cast and crew of the series.

"The Blacklist" Season 8, episode 6, which aired in February 2021, served as a tribute to actor Clark Middleton, who played eccentric DMV employee Glen Carter in 13 episodes of the series. Middleton died in October 2020 at the age of 63 following a battle with the West Nile Virus, The Wrap reported.

"Clark somehow knew how to make Glen Carter — an incredibly annoying and frustrating guy — incredibly lovable and fun to watch. He approached the part with a real humanity, which is why I think the character resonates so much for our audience," series creator Jon Bokenkamp told the outlet.

"Over the past few years, Clark and I became good friends," he continued. "We’d grab dinner, meet up after press events, or hang out and talk about movies. Those are some of my best memories — just getting to know him outside of the show. Clark was a great guy, a fantastic actor, and I miss him dearly — his mark on 'The Blacklist' is undeniable."

NBC also honored Brian Dennehy with a special episode of "The Blacklist" in 2020. The actor, who died on April 15, 2020, at the age of 81, recurred as Dominic Wilkinson, the father of Russian spy Katarina Rostova (Lotte Verbeek) and the grandfather of Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone), in the series starring James Spader and Boone, Deadline reported.

Dennehy joined "The Blacklist" in Season 3. He had appeared in nine episodes of the series, including two in Season 7, the last installment he appeared in.

"The Blacklist" Season 9 has two more episodes left before it ends on May 20.

"In an effort to reveal his true enemy, Red (Spader) turns to the Task Force to help ground a flying fortress bank," read the synopsis of Season 9, episode 20, according to TV Guide.
