BLACKPINK’s 'How You Like That' Creates History; Becomes The Second-Longest-Charting Korean Girl Group Single

South Korean K-pop group Blackpink's single "How You Like That" has gone on to become the second-longest charting single by a K-pop girl group in Canadian history.

The song was released on June 26, 2020, and has been on Billboard's Canadian hot 100 list for six weeks.

When the song debuted, it peaked at No.11 on the charts, barely missing out on being Blackpink's first single to enter the top 10 rankings in the country, according to Forbes.

The song which is a part of their debut pre-release studio album called "The Album" also gained over 1 million views on YouTube within 32 hours of its release and currently has over 418 million views.

Their "Kill This Love" song which was released on April 5, 2019, had also ranked at No.11 the previous year. The band’s “Kiss and Make Up” single had peaked at No. 44 back in 2018. This week, the "How You Like That" single dropped from ranking at No.81 to No.98 on the charts. However, it still ranks at one of the most-consumed songs in the country every frame.

Meanwhile, fans have nothing to worry about as their next single is right around the corner! Blackpink recently took to their official social media accounts to announce that they were collaborating with the American Singer Selena Gomez to release a new single. The song will be out on Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. KST (12 a.m. EST).

Their artist, Rosé, also posted a teaser image of the collaboration with the caption "Who’s ready? @selenagomez x @blackpinkofficial"

Though neither of the artists have released the name of their upcoming music, it has been confirmed that the song will be out right before the release of Blackpink’s debut studio album which is set to release on Oct. 2. The band has also collaborated with many artists including Lady Gaga and Dua Lipa in the past.

Blackpink debuted under YG Entertainment in August 2016 as a four-member band with members Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo. The band rose to fame with their singles “Whistle” and “Boombayah” from the album “Square One” and is currently one of the most popular K-pop bands in South Korea.
