Blackpink's Jennie And 'Squid Game' Star Jung Ho-Yeon Attend LACMA Gala; Fans React
Superstar besties Jennie Kim and Jung Ho-Yeon sent their fans into excitement on Twitter after the pair was spotted attending the 10th annual LACMA Art+Film gala in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Hoyeon, who is Louis Vuitton's new global ambassador, attended the popular museum's 10th annual edition with "Squid Game" co-stars Lee Jung-Jae, Park Hae-Soo and the series' creator, Hwang Dong-Hyuk. However, it was her photo with Jennie that sent fans raving on social media.
Hoyeon paid a tribute to her friendship with the famous Blackpink star on her Instagram story on Monday by sharing a photo of them posing before the camera at LACMA's Instagram-famous lamp posts.
"Jennie and Hoyeon, they look gorgeous," a Twitter user said, while another said, "They are so pretty."
The closeness of Hoyeon and Jennie can be seen clearly in another Instagram photo, which was reposted by World Music Awards. In the photo, the pair sat together with Paradise Group heiress Joanna Chun at the same event.
"All eyes were on #Blackpink's #Jennie, #Squidgame's #HoYeonJung and Paradise heiress #JoannaChun at the #LACMAArtandFilm Gala last night! @Blackpink," the official Twitter page of World Music Awards said.
Hoyeon, a former model and second placer at "Korea's Next Top Model" earlier told Vogue that she became close to Jennie after they met at the Paris Fashion Week. Hoyeon attended the event as a model for Chanel.
"Jennie came to see the Chanel show and I was on the runway. Jennie's stylist knew us both so we coincidentally came across and were introduced to each other," Hoyeon shared. "I remember Jennie had a concert in New York, so I went to that concert and we hung out. After that, we would also hang out in Korea when we were there and we would have meals together."
The 27-year-old actress also said she gets along well with Jennie since they are close in age and they both work in the entertainment industry.
"She has been fully supportive of my new acting career and I believe that she's a true angel. I can't really express how grateful I am to her," she added in the Vogue interview.
Prior to the airing of "Squid Game," Jennie sent a snack truck as a show of support to Hoyeon for her first acting gig. The Blackpink rapper also visited the set of "Squid Game" and received a "red light, green light" doll from Hoyeon.
