South Korean girl group Blackpink is currently one of the biggest and most popular bands in the world.
Blackpink debuted under YG Entertainment with four members namely Lisa, Rosé, Jennie, and Jisoo in 2016. It’s been four years since its debut and the K-pop band has established itself as the most popular girl group not only in South Korea but also internationally.
Blackpink was the first K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella and also to achieve 1 billion views on YouTube. The band is also the 3rd more subscribed artists on YouTube and presently has over 46.6 million subscribers. It was also the first girl group in the world to feature on Forbes "Asia’s 30 Under 30" list, according to Vogue.
In 2019, the band broke three Guinness World Records with their hit single "Kill This Love." The girls were also chosen as representatives of numerous world-renowned brands such as Chanel, Puma, Louis Vuitton, and Dior.
Blackpink was the first girl group to debut under YG Entertainment in seven years. Following the success of 2NE1, the band had a lot of expectations to meet.
The group, however, lived up to the expectations and triumphed with their bold EDM music style, iconic visuals, and choreographies.
The new generation girl band won the hearts of millions and quickly rose to fame with its first album titled "Square One" which featured two of its hit songs "Boombayah" and "Whistle."
Blackpink has also collaborated with American singers including Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, and more. Moreover, the girls continued to release hits one after another including "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du," "Playing With Fire," "As If It’s Your Last," "How You Like That,” and the most recent “Ice Cream.”

Jennie has successfully branched out as a soloist and a powerful influencer, whereas Jisoo has become the face of beauty brands such as Kiss Me and Dior.
Meanwhile, Blackpink's main vocalist Rosé has also gained a lot of attention with distinct vocals. Lisa, the Thailand-born rapper and dancer is the most followed K-pop star on Instagram and has a strong influence in Thailand. She also has her own YouTube channel called Lilifilm Official.
