Blackpink's Lisa Scores Three Spots On Billboard Charts For 'Lalisa'

In the past, Lisa Manoban has been part of Billboard charts, but with her Blackpink bandmates. Now, she has made a name for herself as a successful solo artist after securing three spots on Billboard charts Tuesday with her new track “Lalisa” from the album of the same name.
Lisa and her fans have managed to place “Lalisa” at No. 84 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, which ranks the week’s most popular songs in the United States.
Aside from the Hot 100, “Lalisa” also ranked No. 2 on the Global 200 chart for the week dated Sept. 25.
“Lalisa” also ranked No. 2 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. top 10 also for the week ending on Sept. 25.
Lisa is the second member of Blackpink to have a solo entry on the Billboard chart after Rosé’s “On the Ground,” which entered the charts at No. 70 earlier this year, as per Soompi.
Released on Sept. 10, Lisa’s first solo album sold 9,200 digital copies in its first tracking frame in the U.S., according to MRC data as per Forbes.
Meanwhile, “Money,” the B-side track of the album has sold 6,900 online copies and is about to chart at No. 8 on this week’s Digital songs sales chart, Forbes added.
“Lalisa” has not only charmed fans from America, but also music enthusiasts in the U.K. after the track claimed the No. 68 spot on the weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the country.
Though originally from Thailand, Lisa is now the second-ever solo female musician from South Korea to dominate the chart in the U.K.
Psy was the first South Korean solo act to have charted hits in the U.K. with “Gangnam Style” in 2012 followed by “Gentleman” in 2013.
He is followed by BTS’ J-Hope, who released a collaboration project with Becky G. in 2019 titled, “Chicken Noodle Soup.” The song rose to No. 82 on the chart. This was followed by BTS’ Suga who released a mixtape titled “D-2” in May 2020 under his moniker Agust D.
The track “Daechwita” from Suga's mixtape “D-2” debuted at No. 68 in the U.K. chart making Suga the third South Korean act to place a chart-topping song in the U.K. chart.
