Blake Shelton, Cady Groves Update: Are Alleged Mistress’ Cryptic Tweets About Miranda Lambert’s Ex-Husband?
Country singer Cady Groves was not confirmed as Blake Shelton’s mistress, but some thought she made it look that way when she posted a series of cryptic tweets early Tuesday, a day after Shelton and ex-wife Miranda Lambert made their divorce announcement.
Groves reportedly had a month-long affair with the singer, Radar Online wrote Wednesday. But the publication then cited a source who said her tweets on lost love were about an ex-fiancé.
Groves, 25, has not identified the person she wrote about. “It’s sick that I experienced a once in a lifetime love -- still as strong as the day it happened -- and have been punished every single day since,” she tweeted. “I never quit loving you -- you just ran.”
The singer, who is from Oklahoma, then talked about unrequited love. “Isn't that what they teach you love is? One loves the other more and therefore holds the power to virtually murder the other,” she mused. “You had the power. And you turned off the lights. I lit the world alone: and now, isn't it crazy I just wanna shine with you?”
Groves then cautioned her 66,300 followers to ignore naysayers. “Ignore the negativity in your life. Right now I'm taking bullets for other people and sometimes in life that's where courage comes from,” she said. “Do not judge someone if you don't know anything about anything. It's ridiculous.”
Shelton, 39, and Lambert, 31, did not cite infidelity as a cause for their divorce, but cheating rumors have run rampant since the king and queen of country music split. Instead, they said a breakup is not what they “envisioned” for their marriage of four years.
The couple does not have any children together, but Life & Style cited an anonymous source who said the “Over You” singer was pregnant. However, Gossip Cop, who is famous for exposing hoaxes, claimed the story was false.
