Blake Shelton Knows People Can’t Believe He’s Dating Gwen Stefani, Slams Rumors

Blake Shelton understands why people are so fascinated with his relationship with Gwen Stefani, but the country music star still can’t believe the rumors about them that get spread.

During an appearance on “Today” with his fellow “Voice” judges, Shelton was asked by Carson Daly if the craziness around his relationship had died down at all. “God, I hope so!” Shelton said. “I don’t think it’s mellowed out, really. I think we don’t pay as much attention anymore. We’re numb to it.”

While Shelton may be numb to the buzz surrounding his relationship, he’s still taken aback by the rumors that get spread around about him and Stefani. “Any time you see a story about us, it’s either that it’s a fake relationship or that we’re already married. Or we’re gonna get married, or she’s on her second set of twins,” he said. “Or, you know, I’m sneaking behind her back to eat meat. I eat meat right in front of her face!”

Still, the “Came Here to Forget” artist realizes it can be hard for people to believe he is actually dating Stefani, something that even he can’t grasp. “In people’s defense, I think it’s so hard for people to wrap their head around why Gwen would want to be with me,” he said. “I don’t blame ‘em.”

It’s no surprise people find it hard to believe Shelton could land a pop star like Stefani after the No Doubt singer previously said she wasn’t even aware of him. “I didn’t even know Blake Shelton existed in the world,” the “Voice” judge said during a February appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

Although Shelton may not understand why Stefani wanted to be with him, the songstress calls him “incredible.” Stefani told Seth Meyers, “He is the most incredible guy. Everybody loves Blake and that’s the thing. There’s not way around it. He’s just a sparkly like happy, amazing person.”
