Bobbi Kristina Brown Death Photo Sold; Houston And Brown Families 'Blaming Each Other' For Image Snapped During Viewing
Bobbi Kristina Brown's family's fears have become a reality -- a photo of the 22-year-old lying in her casket has reportedly been sold to the media. Both the Brown and Houston families were said to have taken extra precautions regarding security at both funeral services to avoid such a situation.
According to TMZ, the photo was sold for over $100,000. The image was said to have been taken during the viewing, which took place July 31 in Alpharetta, Georgia. Sources say the families are currently feuding over who could have taken and sold the picture, with each side pointing a finger at the other. It has not yet been revealed which outlet purchased the photo.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time the Brown and Houston families have had to face this issue. As the Daily Mail reported, photos were also leaked after Bobbi's mother Whitney Houston's funeral, in February 2012. At the time many blamed the staff at Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey, where her body was prepared for burial. Carolyn Whigham, the establishment’s owner, maintained that neither she nor her staff would do such a thing. The photo was published by several publications, prompting angry reactions from dedicated fans of Whitney. The Brown and Houston families did everything in their power to ensure such an incident would not happen again, however it seems even their best efforts were not enough.
As previously reported, Bobbi Kristina’s Sweet 16-themed funeral was held on Aug. 1 at St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Her family went to great lengths to ensure only family and friends were allowed into the venue. Security was posted at the door and were said to have turned away several fans hoping to pay their respects. From there her body was transported to Westfield, New Jersey, on Monday to be buried at Fairview Cemetery alongside her mother. The funeral caused quite a stir as local police attempted to maintain order. Fans and media members lined the streets hoping to get a glimpse of the families as they made their way to the cemetery.
Neither side of Bobbi Kristina’s family has spoken out about the photo being sold.
