Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Cousin Speaks Out After Arrest; Jerod Brown Thanks Followers For Prayers
Days after his arrest, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s cousin, Jerod Brown, is speaking out. The 27-year-old confirmed on Twitter that he had been taken into police custody, and thanked his attorney for getting him out. Shortly after being bailed out, Brown took to his Facebook to share a heartfelt thank you to followers for their continued support of him and his family.
Jerod was arrested March 24 after police pulled him over and smelled marijuana, according to Us Weekly. He denied having the substance on him, but said he “just came from the studio.” He was taken into custody while the police conducted an investigation which revealed there was a warrant out for his arrest.
Although the magazine reports Jerod has been ostracized by his family in the weeks since Bobbi Kristina’s hospitalization, he continues to share messages of love and hope regarding the 22-year-old’s condition. In his most recent post, Jerod, who is known to many by his stage name YF Kennedy, posted a Facebook message thanking fans for their prayers and asking that they “continue to uplift” Bobbi Kristina. He claimed he was “only a soldier,” and was thankful to have many more by his side.
“I'm so glad to see Bobbi Kristina is loved by you all!!! She's been through so much even from a little girl,” he wrote. “Its good to know the world can be unified and uplift Auntie Whitney's Greatest Love of All at this time. When this situation passes, all I ask is that you all continue to uplift her and support the rest of her mission here on earth. I am only a soldier, standing as much as I can, and I'm thankful to know I do not stand alone. #jerodbrown #yfkennedy.”
Bobby Brown has repeatedly denied Jerod has had any contact with the family. In February Bobby went as far as to release a statement asking fans to “disregard” the alleged rapper. The statement claimed he had no factual information about Bobbi Kristina’s condition and asked that fans not attend any events he organized.
“Jerod Brown aka Jerod Carter aka YF Kennedy, continues to make statements and appear on television, however, he has not had any communication with Bobby Brown or the Houston family,” the statement, delivered by attorney Christopher Brown, said. “He must be disregarded. Please do not attend any ‘meet and greet’ organized by Jerod Brown as he is unable to provide access to Bobbi Kristina or information on her condition. This is a criminal investigation and we do not need this side show.”
Following his Facebook update, Jerod took to Twitter where he claimed he was attending a family meeting. He did not share any details as to who was at the alleged meeting or what they may be discussing. Neither him, nor her immediate family have shared any further updates on her condition.
Bobbi Kristina remains in a medically induced coma with little to no significant changes in her condition. She has been hospitalized since January 31, when she was found face down in the bathtub inside her home. Police are currently investigating the incident in the hopes of uncovering whether or not her hospitalization was a result of foul play. It is widely believed that Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is at the center of that investigation. Authorities are also said to be looking into drugs as a possible cause after a close friend revealed both Bobbi Kristina and Gordon had been using narcotics.
Her grandmother, Cissy Houston, sat down with 107.5 FM to discuss her grandchild’s condition. During the interview she revealed that she had been moved to a rehab center where should could get the ‘round-the-clock care she needs at this time, however she says there is “not a great deal of hope.” Houston says the family continues to pray for a miracle.
“If he works a miracle, thank God. If it happens the other way, I’m alright,” she said.
