Bobby Flay, January Jones Rumor Update: ‘Cheater’ Sign Flies Over Chef’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame Ceremony
Food Network star Bobby Flay became the first chef to get his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday, but there was a taste of resentment in the air. As Flay accepted the accolade, a banner that read “cheater” scrolled across the sky, TMZ wrote. Though it cannot be confirmed who commissioned the banner, it obviously referred to his contentious divorce with “Law & Order: SVU” actress Stephanie March, who accused him of infidelity in legal documents.
The plane flew for an hour, TMZ wrote. The banner appeared just as Flay made his speech and didn’t leave the area until he was done speaking, a source told E! News.
In his speech, he thanked Emeril Lagasse. "For over a decade it was Emeril's network,” he said, according to Eater. Toward the end, he dedicated the star to his daughter, Sophie, whom he shares with ex-wife Debra Ponzek. "Hard work is the true recipe for success,” he finished.
Flay apparently didn’t address the “cheater” banner, but he has battled rumors that he had an affair with “Mad Men” actress January Jones. March said her estranged husband and the actress had sex repeatedly in 2010. “Stephanie is claiming in court papers that Bobby committed adultery with January several times during the early months of 2010,” the source said. “She says they had sex many times and in different places, including the London Hotel in Los Angeles.”
March confronted him after rumors arose that he had cheated with Jones. “I know Stephanie basically asked him after January Jones, ‘Did you f--- her?,’” a source told the New York Daily News. But Flay apparently lied about the affair and told March he hadn’t cheated when she confronted him.
Flay appears on various Food Network shows, including “Beat Bobby Flay,” which airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. EDT.
