Is ‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ New Today?
Fans of “The Bold and the Beautiful” should be able to see their favorite soap back on the programming schedule on Friday, July 21, after live news coverage preempted the episode originally scheduled for the day prior.
The episode initially scheduled to air on Thursday, July 20, was preempted for a CBS News special report which followed coverage of OJ Simpson’s parole hearing in Nevada. The coverage continued through the entire 30 minute programming block that is usually occupied by the soap, necessitating the change in the schedule.

A tweet from the CBS Daytime account confirmed the change on Thursday. The rest of the network’s programming, including “The Young and the Restless,” which airs before “B&B” and was partially through the episode before being cut off, and “The Talk,” which airs after, was not affected by the change and will all continue with new episodes on Friday.
The news report focused on the live coverage of Simpson’s parole hearing after he had served nine years of a 33-year prison sentence for 12 charges, including robbery and kidnapping, after he robbed sports memorabilia collector Bruce Fromong at gunpoint in Las Vegas back in 2007. It had previously been believed that he was given the heavy sentence after he was acquitted in 1995 of murdering his then-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman, in a heavily publicized trial.
Simpson was granted parole after the hearing, and is set to be released from prison on October 1.
As for “The Bold and the Beautiful,” the episode that was preempted was set to pick up after Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) confronted Quinn (Rena Sofer) about her kisses with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). The Forrester granddaughter had told the other woman that her betrayal of Eric (John McCook) was too much, and it would be best if she left the mansion, and her husband’s life, for good.

Following that confrontation, Steffy looks set to go to Eric at the hotel he has been hiding out at, and try to encourage her grandfather to return home, because she is still concerned about the fact that Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) is also at the hotel, and has such easy access to Eric because she has made him believe she is his only ally.
However, Eric will likely refuse Steffy’s request to come home, because he is also not ready to face the others he considered close friends and family who knew about what had happened between Quinn and Ridge and didn’t tell him. Steffy will concede that he is entitled to feel that way and remain in hiding. She will promise him that she won’t give away his location to anyone if he doesn’t want her to, but she will warn her grandfather to express caution about trusting Sheila the way he seems to.
“I’m not going to tell the family that you’re here,” she says in a preview clip for the episode. “But just keep Sheila away, okay?”
“The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
