Bollywood Star Kareena Kapoor Khan Turns Down Invitation To Meet Prince William And Kate Middleton
One of the events that Prince William and wife Kate Middleton will attend during their upcoming royal trip to India would be a reception and dinner that will also be attended by some of the big names in the said country’s political, business and entertainment sectors. However, one of Bollywood’s most famous celebrities has had no choice but to decline the event’s invitation.
Any royal watcher or fan would have been thrilled to have the chance to meet Prince William and Kate in person. Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan may have also felt the same way but she reportedly let go of the opportunity to meet the royal couple. A source has revealed to Mid-Day that Kareena has decided to miss the upcoming charity gala to be held on Sunday.
Kareena and her husband actor Saif Ali Khan were both invited to attend the said event. The source stated that the Bollywood couple share a “special bond” with London since they regularly travel to the said city. The authorities who are handling the royal reception were said to have “wanted the couple to be a part of the event.” However, both have said no.
The source also claimed that Kareena has told her friends that she “does not want to go alone,” given that her husband Saif has a previous filming engagement. The actor’s shooting schedule for “Rangoon” was said to be in conflict with the upcoming Prince William and Kate dinner gala. However, the actress’ representative stated that Kareena also has schedule conflicts of her own. The Bollywood star will reportedly be in Bangkok during that time to shoot an ad, the actress’ representative explained.
Meanwhile, the benefit reception and gala would be one of the events that Prince William and Kate will attend during their upcoming India trip. The event would also help to raise funds for three charities, according to Hello magazine. These three charities include Magic Bus, Doorstep, and Childline.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s upcoming royal trip to India and Bhutan will start on April 10 and end on April 16.
